Kids Fishing Day on Moses Lake sponsored by the Columbia Basin Walleye Club. The event was attended by more than 650 miniature anglers with their sites set on putting the smack down on some trout. The kids approached their confined quarry in mobs of 150 after being armed with a safety briefing by the Grant County Sheriff's Office and out-fitted with a new Zebco Rod and Reel donated through the C.A.S.T Program. Pressured by a 30 minute time limit and the desire to land a 12" Hawg, the tiny anglers went to work.
The 8 eight hour day passed by quickly as the gut piles pile up, the hooks are removed from places they were not meant to be, the sunscreen lotion runs thin and the young anglers fill their limit. Quite an amazing day, especially from the safety of a camera, to watch these tiny anglers as many of these future Sporting Goods Customers caught their first fish in this event.
For $5, the kids received a T-Shirt, a Zebco Fishing Pole, a Hot Dog and a limit of 2 fish if they successfully outwitted their cunning prey.
The smiles, the laughter, the thrills, the wide eyed amazement.... and the kids had fun too...
